Congratulations to our 2021 winners!

Brooke Bannon

Brooke Bannon is an 8th grade student at Holy Family Regional Catholic School in Levittown, PA. She will be attending Conwell Egan Catholic High School in the fall. She is looking forward to meeting new friends and being involved at school. Brooke is the current Secretary of Student Council at her school. She is involved in the school plays, CYO basketball and is an honor student. She is a Girl Scout and eagerly looking forward to their Costa Rica trip next year. She is a DLFF and Gifts for Gwyn Scholarship recipient. Brooke is active with community service through school, Girl Scouts and through DLFF. She comes from a large Irish family and proudly displays The Bannon family crest and coat of arms in her house.

Brianna Byrne

Hi my name is Brianna Byrne. I attend Conwell Egan Catholic High School and I'm in 9th grade. I enjoy many of the clubs and sports my school has to offer and hope to participate in them next year. Last year I participated in many things. For example, I played soccer and track. I was the lead in my school's play and secretary of the student council. Some clubs I did were art club, chess club, robotic, rosary, altar serving, lectures club, service club, reading olympics, mural painting for the play, and more. This year I participated in Spirit Night which is an activity that CEC offers. I enjoyed it very much. I have many hobbies and things I enjoy doing like cooking, playing sports, and hanging out with friends. I have many goals in life and with this scholarship I believe some of them could be achieved. I am currently working towards honors and next year I hope to achieve that goal.

Erin Byrne

My name is Erin Byrne. I am 13-years-old and I will be graduating from St. Michael the Archangel School this year. The high school I will be attending is Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. I am so excited and so grateful to be able to attend CEC. I am an Honors Student and I am involved in many school activities and clubs. Student Council is one of the many things I’m involved in. In the Student Council, I am the Student Council Treasurer. I also participate in sports such as soccer and track. The other clubs I am in include Rosary Club, Service Club, Musical Theater, Art Club, Lector Club, and Reading Olympics. I am also an Altar Server at my Church. Over the years I have received many Pastor's Awards, Principal's Honors, and First Honors. I am a hardworking student and I do well in my classes. I work hard every day and strive to do my best. Some of my hobbies outside of school include drawing, writing, reading, and painting.

Connor Dunn

My name is Connor Dunn and I am currently an eighth grader at St. Andrews Catholic School. I am a member of the National Junior honor society and math is my favorite subject. I enjoy playing baseball, basketball and hanging out with friends.  I will be attending Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ in the fall and look forward to playing sports and continuing to practice my Catholic faith. Family and my Irish culture are important to me.

Erica Logue

I am currently an eighth grader at St. Michael the Archangel School in Levittown. I am an honor roll student and over the years, have participated in dance, the Reading Olympics, D.A.R.E, and the Service Club. I have also served as an altar server for the parish since 5th grade. I live in Levittown with my parents and two older sisters. This fall, I am looking forward to attending Conwell-Egan Catholic High School.

Mairead McGinley

Mairead McGinley is the oldest of four children, and there is nothing she enjoys more than being with her big Irish, Catholic family, especially her cousins.  Mairead is an 8th grader at Saint Andrew School where she has Distinguished Academic Honors.  She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.  She is an altar server at Saint Andrew Parish, and a member of the parish's tonechime ensemble.  Mairead sings in her school choir, and has participated in school theatre, as well as community theatre productions with the Newtown Arts Company.  Mairead has been a girl scout in Troop 2122 for 8 years.  She also plays CYO soccer and basketball.  She is looking forward to starting high school in the fall at Villa Joseph Marie.

Liam Murphy

Liam Murphy is currently a freshman at Holy Ghost Prep. Prior to attending Holy Ghost in the fall of 2020, Liam graduated from St. Andrews Catholic school. Liam also attended Grey Nun Academy from Pre-K-7th grade. Liam was awarded the Leadership award in 7th grade and also participated in service and spirit, DARE, Reading Olympics, as well as enjoyed playing soccer, tennis and Piano during his free time. Liam was also on student council in 5th and 7th grade. During his first semester at Holy Ghost Prep, Liam was awarded high honors on his report card, while taking three honors courses. He has decided to participate in Rowing while at Holy Ghost, and rowed in the fall, winter and is currently rowing this spring. Liam has recently participated in several Regattas on the Schuylkill River, and also rows at Core Creek Park. He plans to row this summer in preparation for his sophomore year Rowing team.

Morgan Murphy

Morgan Murphy is currently a junior at Villa Joseph Marie High School.  She has been the recipient of the Early Candidates Scholarship since freshman year.  Morgan’s GPA is 4.3. She was accepted into National Honor Society and also the Science National Honor Society. Morgan currently serves on Villa’s nine member executive board and has been on student council team since her freshman year.  Morgan won “Secretary” position on the executive board for her senior year.  She also participates in Villa’s Future Business Leaders Club, Athletes Helping Athletes and Community Service Club. During Morgan’s free time she plays soccer as a Goalkeeper for Villa Joseph Marie and the FC Bucks and will be attending Westminster College PA continuing her soccer career when she graduates in 2022.  Morgan enjoys basketball and served as Villa’s team manager her Junior year and also played for six years prior. Morgan also played softball for six years, prior to choosing soccer as her main sport.

Daniel Nipper

My name is Daniel Nipper, and I am heading into my sophomore year of high school at Holy Ghost Prep. I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, and I also like to run. I demonstrate my willingness to serve others by giving a helping hand in setting up special events at school, and by helping coach the Saint Andrew CYO Track and Field team, which I was a member of back in grade school. I hope to take part in the Irish Exchange Program that a selected amount of sophomores take part in at my school. This would allow me to learn about the lives of my ancestors, which is something I take much interest!

Michael Nipper

I am Michael Nipper. I am going to be a senior at Holy Ghost Preparatory School in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. I have a brother, Daniel, who will be a sophomore, and a sister, Claire, who will be in the sixth grade. I play ultimate frisbee for my school, where I belong to the National English Honor Society and other extracurricular activities. In my free time, I like to create and play video games, play sports with my friends, and play with my dog, Lucy. I have a passion for computer science, which I plan on studying in college. I hope to become a video game developer, as I enjoy the programming, graphic design, and all other aspects of video game development.

Aidan Pisor

Aidan Pisors is a recent graduate of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School and a member of St. Bede the Venerable Parish, in Holland, Pa. He is an alter server and has also just been appointed as an advisor for his Parish’s Teen Advisory Board. In his spare time, Aidan enjoys visiting Sea Isle City, N.J. with his family and watching the Philadelphia Phillies. Aidan also enjoys reading about U.S. and Irish history, playing baseball and flag football. Aidan is excited to attend LaSalle College High School in the Fall, and hopes to join the Robotics Club and the Celtic Club. He also looks forward to visiting his cousins in Ireland in the next year!

Shannon Shipp

Shannon Shipp, 14, is an honors student who will graduate from St. Andrew Catholic School in Newtown. She eagerly anticipates attendance at Martin Saints Classical High School in Oreland this fall. Shannon is the oldest of four children to James Shipp and Jen Palancia Shipp of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Her passions include singing, acting and dancing, which she hopes will equip her well to attend Juilliard and a career on the stage and screen. Shannon also enjoys reading and watching musicals. Shannon is a member of the Junior National Honor Society, a Danaher Lynch scholar, a member of the Reading Olympics team, an altar server and cantor, a choir member, and an avid performer in many musicals and plays locally and off Broadway.

Jacob Stewart

My name is Jacob Stewart and I am an eighth grade student at St Mark Catholic School located in Bristol Borough. I am currently a member of the Student Council, and I am an altar server for my church. I enjoy playing sports, which include soccer, basketball and track. I also like playing video games and hanging out with my friends. In the fall, I will be attending Conwell Egan Catholic High School. There, I will try out for the soccer team and do my best academically. I am looking forward to what comes next and I am very thankful for the scholarship.

Kristin Taylor

Kristin Taylor will be a freshman at Villa Joseph Marie High School In the fall of 2021. She currently is in the National Honors Junior Society at Saint Andrew School and is an active member of Girl Scout Troop 2122. Kristin enjoys horseback riding, baking, and playing the guitar. She also enjoys traveling, and looks forward to visiting Ireland one day.
